What a Grimoire means in Sephiria

The collected guides place Grimoires inside the run’s resource and item systems rather than the permanent progression tree. They interact with MP, spells, starting conditions, and Costume rules. That makes a Grimoire relevant both as an immediate tool and as part of a larger build assumption.

The research archive does not provide a trustworthy complete list of every current Grimoire, its drop source, exact cost, and numeric effect. Publishing such a table would require current in-game tooltips or a versioned primary database. This page focuses on relationships supported by the saved material instead of filling the gap with names from search snippets.

Grimoire and MP planning

Before taking or using a Grimoire, identify how the current setup generates and spends MP. A spell that cannot be supported by the available resource cycle is not a reliable core, even if its isolated effect appears strong. Compare the Grimoire’s role with the weapon’s own resource demands, especially on Katana or other routes already managing MP-sensitive actions.

Record whether a Costume changes starting MP, spell access, Grimoire cost, or another resource rule. Those changes can make the same Grimoire behave differently across two runs. A shared build that omits the Costume and current tooltip leaves out the information needed to reproduce the result.

Costume connections in the archive

The v1.0.24 Costume material groups several choices under Grimoire and MP themes. Scholar Lizard, White Rabbit, and Red-Hooded Rabbit are among the examples associated with MP, starting spells, or Grimoire costs in the saved notes. Exact effects are not repeated here because the current selection screen must confirm their wording and values.

Ghost has a more specific recorded unlock condition: obtain at least five Grimoires in a single adventure. That is a community database record for the captured version, not a permanent official guarantee. Check the live Ghost unlock text before planning an entire run around the number.

Planning the Ghost unlock attempt

If the current client still shows the same condition, treat it as a single-adventure collection goal. Choose a route that preserves inventory and resource flexibility rather than committing every reward to a narrow final build. Track Grimoires obtained during that attempt so the run does not depend on memory.

Do not assume that holding, using, buying, or merely seeing a Grimoire all count in the same way. The archived summary says “obtaining,” but it does not establish every edge case. The current unlock tracker or completion notification is the final evidence that the action counted.

Evaluate a Grimoire inside the build

Ask four questions: what resource does it spend, what condition activates it, which problem does it solve, and what inventory or opportunity cost comes with it? Then compare that answer with the current weapon route. A Grimoire that solves range or control can be valuable to a close weapon, while a redundant effect may add complexity without changing the failed encounter.

Tablets and Artifacts can also compete for the same inventory planning. Protect the central adjacency network before adding a secondary item that forces several moves. If the Grimoire route depends on a Costume rule, keep that assumption explicit rather than describing the item as universally efficient.

What is not established

No collected official page supplies a complete current Grimoire catalog, fixed drop rate, guaranteed room, or universal best choice. The archive also does not support inventing names for missing entries or copying trainer and console IDs into a gameplay guide. Search results that mention an item are not enough to prove its current effect.

Use the live tooltip to capture name, version, cost, effect, trigger, and source when expanding the database. Until those fields are available, a smaller accurate guide is more useful than a large table that mixes old or unofficial values.
